AIDA Cruises supports Rostock seamen's mission

On behalf of AIDA Cruises, Falk Bleckert, Captain of AIDAdiva, handed over a donation amounting to EUR 1,000 to Folkert J. Janssen, Head of the Seamen's Mission Rostock e.V. on Sunday, August 14, 2016.
Within the context of the annually recurring Rostock Hanse Sail, both the seafarers' worship service and the German Seamen's Mission in Rostock celebrated their 25th anniversary this year. Guest of honour of the festive worship service was Dr. Andreas von Maltzahn, regional bishop of the Nordkirche in the parish of Mecklenburg and Pomerania.
Following the festive worship service, Bishop Dr. von Maltzahn paid AIDAdiva a visit together with Karina Jens, member of the Rostock city parliament and a delegation from the German Seamen's Mission Rostock e.V. On this occasion Captain Falk Bleckert had the opportunity to provide insights into the life and work of the AIDA crews on board and the development of AIDA Cruises.
“AIDA cares” is not just the name of the sustainability program of AIDA Cruises, but also an expression of its corporate culture and social commitment. As a longstanding partner, AIDA furthers numerous social and cultural institutions both at home and abroad. 2021: First fuel cells for AIDAnova
