A great opportunity for applicants: Aspiring crew members can gain an insight into their dream job at career days on board our ships – and check out their aptitude in a multi-stage selection procedure.
At our career days for jobs in the Marine and Guests sections, recruitment becomes an experience in itself. We invite selected applicants to a career day, for example in the nautical, marine engineering, electronic engineering, bar, restaurant or galley divisions. That way they can get to know the “ship” working environment on board our fleet. Their performance will determine whether their dream of a job with a sea view becomes a reality. We use a combination of face-to-face interviews, written tests and practical exercises to find out whether an aspiring applicant fits in. Under the critical eyes of human resources personnel, the candidates have to put their skills to the test – be it as a bartender, cook or restaurant worker. But just knowing how to mix a perfect cocktail is not enough to make you a good bartender. We also evaluate how well applicants work in a team and meet our high service standards. Those who have both the professional and personal skills we want can sign their contract on board at the end of the day, and become part of our crew straight away.
