Our sustainability reporting has applied the principles and standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) since 2010. We are consequently able to provide a transparent and comprehensive insight into our activities.
The Carnival Corporation & plc has defined and implemented key comparable reporting indicators applicable for all the brands since 2009. As a result, the reports of the individual subsidiaries are easier to differentiate and to consolidate the key figures at group level.
Our sustainability report ‘AIDA cares 2017’ is based on the international standard GRI G4 of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which is defined by Carnival Corporation & plc as the Group-wide reporting standard.
The B.A.U.M. Consult GmbH has reviewed the GRI level of compliance ‘core’ of ‘AIDA cares 2017’ based on the documents made available by AIDA Cruises (summary of sustainability report and the complete report version at www.aida.de/aidacares). Following actions were undertaken by B.A.U.M. Consult:
- Check for completeness of the information provided
- Examination of the location and correct allocation of the information
- Comments and suggestions for improvement on the reported indicators
Following actions were not undertaken:
- Review of the background documents and
- Review of compliance with the sustainability report of Carnival Corporation & plc, especially where * is satisfied and the GRI Index is referenced.
The presentation of supply chains (G4 12) as well as the internal and external assignment of the main topics (G4 20 and G4 21) of our company are not included in the assessment of the degree of fulfillment Core. The responsibility for the contents of ‘AIDA cares 2017’ lies with the legal representative of AIDA Cruises.
The survey is managed by the specialist departments in agreement with the director for environment and society, Dr Monika Griefahn, and incorporated in the areas of controlling, guests and personnel as well as by Carnival Maritime GmbH.
